Betterflix - Smart Media Streaming
Desktop media streaming app with FFmpeg transcoding and smart library management. Built with Electron and React.

The Problem
Browsing messy network drives for media is a poor experience. Betterflix automates library organization, enriches content with metadata, and provides smooth HLS streaming.
Development Process
Transcoding Engine
Integrated static FFmpeg binaries to handle on-the-fly video transcoding and adaptive bitrate streaming via HLS.
Desktop Integration
Utilized Electron to wrap a high-performance React 19 frontend with native system access and auto-updating capabilities.
Smart Discovery
Developed a library scanning algorithm that automatically identifies movies/TV shows and fetches metadata.
